Mimikyyu's Playroom

This Pokémon sculpture, featuring a horror-themed Mimikyyu's Playroom, is my first sculpting project completed as part of my studies at SAE Institute. Inspired by Junji Ito's distinctive style of creating horror characters, I chose to explore the concept of reinterpreting Mimikyu with a haunting and unique design, complemented by a specially crafted backstory. Using ZBrush, I worked to create a one-of-a-kind version of Mimikyu while refining my digital sculpting skills.

In this eerie tale, Mimikyu, a Pokémon once beloved by its owner, experiences a tragic event. After its owner mysteriously vanishes without a trace, Mimikyu is left to wander the abandoned house, desperately searching for clues of their return. Driven by grief and despair, Mimikyu's form begins to twist and warp, morphing into a chilling, horror-inspired creature. It now lurks within the dark shadows of the house, waiting for any sign of its missing owner and lashing out at any intruder who dares to disturb its forgotten home.
